MTA Bus Service Changes

Brooklyn

B103 and BM2 CUSTOMERS
EFFECTIVE MONDAY, MAY 4, 2009

The travel path and terminus of the B103 and BM2 in Canarsie will be revised so that they may serve a new terminus at Flatlands Avenue and Williams Avenue. This revision is being made in both directions to provide service on a more direct travel path instead of reversing direction to serve the current terminus on Flatlands Avenue at East 94th Street.

Flatlands Av & E 94 St: customers may use the B6 or B82 along Flatlands Avenue and transfer to and from the B103 or BM2 on East 80th Street at Flatlands Avenue. Customers may also use the B6 to travel directly to and from the Flatbush Avenue Station 25 station.

Avenue J & E 102 St: customers may walk to and from the B103 and BM2 bus stop on East 105th Street at Avenue J or walk to Flatlands Avenue and East 103rd Street to take the B82 to transfer to and from the B103 or BM2. Transfers between the B6/B82 and the B103 are free. Transfers between the B6/B82 and BM2 can be made at no additional charge with a MetroCard.

In addition, the westbound B103 and BM2 bus stop (to Downtown Brooklyn/Manhattan) on Avenue J at East 105th Street will be relocated around the corner to East 105th Street at Avenue J.

The BM2 Spring Creek Branch will continue to serve Pennsylvania Avenue.

BM1 CUSTOMERS
EFFECTIVE MONDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2009

In an effort to provide faster and more direct service, the BM1 travel path through Mill Basin and Bergen Beach, Brooklyn will be revised. This revision will streamline the current circuitous travel path through this area by providing more direct service.

Westbound BM1 trips to Manhattan will operate from northbound East 66th Street via Avenue U, Veterans Avenue, Avenue N, and Ralph Avenue, resuming the regular route.

Eastbound BM1 trips to Mill Basin will operate from southbound Ralph Avenue via Avenue N, Veterans Avenue, East 71st Street, Avenue U, and East 66th Street, resuming the regular route.

The BM1 bus stops on Mill Avenue at Avenue T will be discontinued in both directions. Customers may use bus stops at Avenue N instead, or transfer to/from the B47, which will continue to serve these bus stops (transfer at no additional charge with a MetroCard). A BM1 bus stop will be added on Veterans Avenue at East 66th Street in both directions.

Other BM1 bus stops in this area will be relocated to nearby locations to be consistent with the revised travel path, as listed below:

In an effort to provide faster, more reliable service through Kensington, Brooklyn and avoid traffic congestion along Church Avenue, the shared non-stop travel paths of the BM1 and BM2 will be revised.

This change is only on the non-stop portions of the routes and therefore, all current bus stops will remain unchanged.

Because of reconstruction on Park Place between Church St and Broadway, BM1, BM2, BM3 and BM4 buses are rerouted over Warren St.

To provide improved Queens express bus connections to Downtown Manhattan, the BxM18 will stop for transfers at the following locations:

Southbound to Downtown (from Queens)

BxM18 departs this bus stop every 15 minutes, approx. 7:05 AM-8:35 AM.
BxM18 arrives Downtown 7:35 AM-9:05 AM.

Northbound (to Queens)

BxM18 departs Downtown every 30 minutes, 4:15 PM-7:15 PM.

Free transfers can be made between any express bus and the BxM18 only with a MetroCard.

Downtown, the BxM18 makes stops between Lispenard Street and Battery Place: on Broadway southbound, and on Greenwich Street/Trinity Place/Church Street/6th Avenue northbound.

Note: The BxM18 operates on weekdays only.

Q67 CUSTOMERS
EFFECTIVE SUNDAY, APRIL 12, 2009

In an effort to provide faster, more reliable service through Maspeth, the travel path of the westbound Q67 (to Long Island City) will be revised to operate on the Queens Midtown Expressway Westbound Service Road from 69th Street to Hamilton Place.

The westbound Q67 will no longer operate on Grand Avenue nor repeatedly cross over the Long Island Expressway in Maspeth.

This revision will discontinue the current westbound bus stops on Grand Avenue at the Queens Midtown Expressway Eastbound Service Road, and on Hamilton Place at Perry Avenue.

A new westbound Q67 bus stop will be added on the Queens Midtown Expressway Westbound Service Road at Hull Avenue.

The current westbound Q67 bus stop on Grand Avenue at 69th Street will be relocated around the corner to the Queens Midtown Expressway Westbound Service Road at Grand Avenue.

The eastbound Q67 (to Ridgewood) will remain unchanged.

Until Memorial Day Weekend

MTA Bridges & Tunnels will begin the next phase of construction on the Cross Bay Bridge. The southbound exit ramps to Beach Channel Drive East (towards Far Rockaway) and Rockaway Freeway/Shorefront Parkway will be closed. All traffic will exit onto Beach Channel Drive westbound (towards Riis Park).

Q21 & Q53 to Rockaway Park, QM16 to Neponsit and QM17 to Far Rockaway will turn onto Beach 101 St, to Rockaway Freeway, to Beach 102 St, to Rockaway Beach Bl. The first stop after the bridge for Q21, Q53 and QM16 passengers will be on Rockaway Beach Bl and Beach 102 St. Passengers who use stops on Rockaway Beach Bl between the Cross Bay Pkwy and Beach 102 St can transfer at Rockaway Beach Bl and Beach 102 St for an eastbound Q22 or northbound Q21 or Q53. No stops will be missed on the QM17.

Normal service will continue for all northbound Q21, Q53 and westbound QM16, QM17 and all Q22 buses.

Q35 CUSTOMERS
EFFECTIVE SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2009

The last westbound Q35 bus stop (to Brooklyn College-Flatbush Av 25 station) will be relocated to Avenue H between Flatbush Avenue and Nostrand Avenue.

The current last westbound Q35 bus stop on Flatbush Avenue between East 31st Street and Nostrand Avenue will be discontinued. This change is being made to accommodate a revised turnaround path in this area.

The current first eastbound Q35 bus stop (to Rockaway Park) on Flatbush Avenue at Nostrand Avenue will remain unchanged.

In an effort to provide faster, more reliable, and more direct service through East New York, Brooklyn. The eastbound Q8 travel path (toward Jamaica) will be revised.

The eastbound Q8 will travel from Sutter Avenue to Pitkin Avenue using Logan Street instead of Montauk Avenue, and then via the regular route.

The bus stop on Sutter Avenue at Logan Street will be relocated across Logan Street to the northeast corner. In response to customer requests, a bus stop will be added on Pitkin Avenue at Logan Street for customers accessing the Q8 from the west.

The westbound Q8 travel path (toward Spring Creek) will remain unchanged.

Q39
Effective Monday, November 17, 2008

Due to the permanent closure of 45th Road between Jackson Avenue and 23rd Street in Long Island City for construction of an enclosed subway transfer between the 45 Rd-Court House Sq 7 station and the Long Island City-Court Square G station, the westbound
Q39 travel path in Long Island City will be revised.

The westbound Q39 travel path (from Ridgewood to Queens Plaza) will be revised to continue south on Jackson Avenue, west on 45th Avenue, north on 23rd Street, and then via regular route. The current westbound Q39 travel path via 45th Road will be discontinued.

The current westbound Q39 bus stop on 23rd Street at 45th Road will be discontinued and replaced with a new bus stop on 45th Avenue at 23rd Street (one block north).

The travel path of the eastbound Q39 (from Queens Plaza to Ridgewood) will remain unchanged.

QM1A, QM11, QM24
Buses rerouted at Park Place
Mon, Oct 13, 2008 until Fall 2009

Because of reconstruction on Park Place between Church St and Broadway, QM1A, QM11 and QM24 buses are rerouted over Warren St.

Northbound
QM1A, QM11 and QM24 buses leave their regular routes on Church St at Warren St, travel on Warren St to Broadway, then return to their regular routes along Broadway.
